oday marks the beginning of Lent, a 40-day journey of reflection, prayer, and fasting; Ash Wednesday. The Chaplain of CATUC Bda reminds us of the importance of disciplining our body through fasting, seeking forgiveness and reconciliation during this period.
He gave us the acronym FER, which stands for Fasting, Externalism and Reconciliation.
Let’s use this Lenten season to:
– Fasting/Abstinence: to not eat till you are full and or abstain from something that you like / enjoy.
– Externalism: do not do your fasting or arms giving for an external show or external validation from others, but for yourself and for God.
– Reconciliation: reconcile with yourself, with one another and with God.
As we receive the ashes on our foreheads, we’re reminded of the words: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return”
Wishing you a blessed Ash Wednesday and a meaningful Lenten journey!
