Best Ever CATUC Models’ Competition

This year’s CATUC Models’ Competition has been described as the best ever. This was probably because it took time to prepare and lots of thought was given to it. The contestants were trained in advance, which gave the contest a professional touch. We must express our gratitude to Afriq-DAB, an entertainment outfit in Bamenda which offered their services to dress the winners of the competition, bring in Artists and Designers and arrange for Miss Northwest Region in the person of Ms. Fongwa Kesten and Miss National Polytechnique to grace the occasion as well as provide a professional jury for the finals.

The final event took place on the 19th of May 2018, following the finals of sports competitions which took place in the morning of the same day. This year, Candy Fresh were winners of the Volleyball competition while Troopers FC took home the football trophy.
The modeling competition itself started at about 2:30 pm with prayers led by Fr. Anthony Yilaka, and was closely followed by an opening speech by the Vice Chancellor, and then a word of encouragement to the contestants from Miss Northwest Region.

• A quiz scored on  60 and taken by the contestants on Friday the 18th of May 2018
• Online voting by the entire University community which started on the 10th of May 2018 and scored on 10. This was done on a platform designed by some Engineering Level Four students as their own contribution towards the event.
• Presentation of their projects scored on 15
• And  the parade scored on 15

Among the so many artists and designers, we had two designers who are CATUC students -Fru George and Tembei Cynthia all from the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences,  who showcased their designs,  and one Musician Solejic Modestqueen of HND Level One who also thrilled the audience with one of her compositions. One could hardly believe that these designers and musician were CATUCians. We are truly proud of you.
