Mission Statement of the Department
The Department of Philosophy intends to instill in students a disinterested search for the truth in the tradition of the “wise person” of Classical and Christian philosophy. It is a philosophical truth rooted firmly in the philosophy of being, elaborated in its historical, practical and speculative perspectives and perceived as the last bastion against relativism in all its contemporary forms.

Objectives of the BA Program
These are:

  • The acquisition of a solid knowledge of the evolution of philosophy from antiquity to today.
  • The mastering of terms, concepts and language fundamental to the understanding of philosophical questions relative to God, man, the world, society and science, viewed from the metaphysical, epistemological and ethical perspectives.
  • Experience of scientific research.
  • Reading, analysis and interpretation of selected classical texts in Philosophy.


Admission Requirement

Candidates who wish to enroll in the Faculty of Philosophy for the Bachelors Degree Program shall meet all the general requirements for admission into the Catholic University of Cameroon, Bamenda.

Fees
The tuition fee per year is 639,500 F CFA for Cameroonians and 1,039,500 F CFA for foreign students. To read more about fees    click here.
